Even though it is not as famous as the other islands around
it, such as Pasumpahan and Pamutusan, Satan Island has its own tourist charm
that is so beautiful. According to the story of the local guide, at first, the
island was named Sultan Island. Then the name is changed which is caused by the
pronunciation of local people so that from the name Sultan Island then it
changes to Setan Island.
So, yesterday, with small waves, I swam around the edge of
the sea. Played some games and banana boat with friends. It was so fun. I rent
the banana boat and donut boat at a rate of Rp. 25,000 to Rp. 30,000 per one
attraction. This island has not been crowded with visitors such as Cubadak
Island and other neighbors islands. So, it is suitable for those of you who
want to take a break from noise, refresh and calm the mind from daily routines.
I also rent mats for sitting. It’s at price of IDR 5,000 / mat.
To reach this tourist destination, I took the sea route
through the Carocok Fish Auction Place (Tempat Pelelangan Ikan), Tarusan. I
spent Rp. 20,000 for the round trip by boat. If you are from Padang and want to
get to Satan Island, you can go directly to Cerocok Tarusan Beach with a distance
of only 1.5 hours from Padang. When you arrive at Cerocok Tarusan Beach, there
you will find many boats that will deliver you to the area of Setan Island.
Insterestingly, I was warmly welcomed by local youth to get
a boat. The boat that took me around was in affordable rates. I only need to
pay Rp. 500,000 - Rp. 750 thousand depending on the number of regions I wanted
to visit. Among them are Satan Island, Sironjong Gadang, Sironjong Ketek,
Mangorve Forest and Sei Gemuruh waterfall. And the end, I’m just wondering if I
can visit this island again next time.
